Participation in equine activities is a key builder of self-esteem for both our children and adult riders. As a county facility, Seaton Hackney Stables offers programs for all ages. However, not every member of our community can afford the cost of participation in equine recreation.
Therefore, the Friends of SHS is hoping to raise enough money through membership fees and participation at events to initially provide:
- Traveling educational programs to local schools (public as well as private).
- Scholarships to riders wishing to participate in the Schooling Shows held at Seaton Hackney Stables.
- Scholarships to riders with financial needs who wish to participate in the 2008 Troop Program.
- Scholarships to riders for the winter, spring, and summer camp programs.
- Community events for the general public as well as member-only events
